  • Haven’t been using my Twitter account at all recently so I deleted it today. It served a good purpose but I’m on to smaller and better networks now.

  • Bought our first car from a dealership last week. Horrible experience. Do not recommend. Will definitely be buying private or trying Carvana.com next time.

  • This is pretty cool. Micro.blog now supports the ActivityPub protocol, so it’s now possible to follow people from across the two networks. I haven’t really been using either network much lately, but my own posts here on my website end up on both. I would love to make mattlorentz.com ActivityPub-aware, but I think I’d have to move away from a static site.

  • Just went through and picked the candidates I am voting for at Vote411.org. You can do research on all the candidates and questions that will be on your ballot, and then save your answers so you have them at the poll tomorrow. Pretty useful tool.

  • I think it’s time to admit to myself that the iPhone 8 Plus is too big for me when I start considering one of these. Does anyone have any recommendations for similar less-horrendous contraptions or cases?

  • Just got write access to the XVim project! Hoping to get some of the open PRs merged and get things moving again.

  • I don’t have a blog, its a weblog

  • Development has stopped on XVim, the most popular vim plugin for Xcode, since Apple rewrote SourceKit last year. I’m ready to start forking over cash to get things back to normal, because I rely on this tool to get my work done every day. If you want to help out, consider pledging some money on BountySource.

  • Somebody is trying to fork of Mastodon and run parts of it on the Ethereum network. It sounds like a neat idea, but the way the founder repeatedly announces in this blog post how he has “solved” the problems on other social networks makes me think he is woefully unprepared to make his own. https://medium.com/@hiveway/hiveway-ceo-we-are-the-biggest-mastodon-fans-c55a67e4f217

  • Cross-posting RSS to Mastodon

  • Looks like I’ve got my jekyll blog set up to send my micro posts to Mastodon. Going to write up what I had to do in case others are interested.
